Plainly, and before anything else: Montserrat Barcelona Tours may earn a commission when you book through a link on this site, at no extra cost to you.

What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold by Viator. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator, a railway, a ticketing authority or a religious body. We do not run any of these coaches or vans, employ any of these guides, or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with the Abadia de Montserrat, the Escolania, the Museum of Montserrat, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, Aeri de Montserrat or the Patronat de la Muntanya de Montserrat.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. The badges are arithmetic: the best seller is the one with the most reviews, the best value is the lowest fare on the site, and a top-rated one carries a 5.0 rating.

Where one operator sells two similar days, both listings appear, because both are separately bookable. The three featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different kinds of day — a coach, a door-to-door van and a walking departure — leaving from three different places in Barcelona.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were read from their own listings on 14 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Everything is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing here is converted at an exchange rate. Two listings were running a dated promotion on the day they were read, and the promotional fare is the one shown.

Where we state a fact about the mountain, it comes from the body that publishes it: the Abadia de Montserrat for the basilica and the Santa Imatge, montserratvisita.com for the opening hours, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat and Aeri de Montserrat for the fares, and the Patronat de la Muntanya de Montserrat for the heights and the walking times.

What we deliberately do not publish

• Any Montserrat admission price. Reseller sites advertise a bundled “general admission” at around €18–25. No official page carries it, and the abbey states that the reservation to see the Santa Imatge costs nothing.
• The Trans Montserrat fare. The official pricing page did not load. Only Tot Montserrat, which did, is quoted.
• A Museum of Montserrat ticket price. Two official-adjacent pages give different figures, so the museum's hours are here and its price is not.
• The Escolania's summer break dates, or whether its performances are ticketed. The abbey publishes neither, and the operators disagree.
• The natural park's area or the year it was designated. The figures in circulation do not agree with each other and none is on a page we could load.
• A date for the carving of La Moreneta. The abbey does not publish one.
